Independent Tests – Burst Power instead of C-Rating

SMC Racing deliberately avoids the industry-standard "C-rate" specifications, as they consider them misleading and non-standardized marketing values. Instead, the company has developed its own transparent testing method to demonstrate the real performance of its batteries under high load.

In this test, a single cell is subjected to a constant resistance load for three seconds, and the voltage at the end of this period is measured. This value, which SMC refers to as "Burst Power", shows how well the battery can maintain its voltage under stress.

Lower Voltage Drop Under Load

The Burst Power measurement shows that SMC batteries exhibit a lower voltage drop under load compared to other manufacturers. This results in more power and more consistent performance. This also means that these batteries offer a better power-to-weight ratio (power per gram), which is particularly critical in FPV racing. SMC supports these claims with direct comparison charts.
